Who I am

My name is Anton Simanov. I'm a web designer, front-end developer, life-time UX apprentice, self-described project manager, back-end novice, hardware enthusiast and research advocate out of Central California. I can feel grey pixels growing out of my beard.

About me in a nuttshell

Since I was a young boy I was fascinated by signs and how everyone around me inferred them, and much more, how differently we all do while understanding the basic messages which are laid out in front of us.

Visual communication is the one and only most important and least studied part of humanity that will never cease to amaze me. I study and follow every aspect of it and get to make cool "web-thingies" for everyone to enjoy and interpret.

The Blog

This place is a record of my professional trials, tribulations, and well-deserved success stories. The goal is to leave you feeling that there is a light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to visual communication (I promise, there really is). I hope that you learn a few lessons as well as ruthlessly steal from my design, process, and creative direction. Just don't get mad if it leads you down the wrong path.

My Current Focus

I am currently employeed as an Air Quality Education Web Specialist at the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District. My focus is in designing, developing, and managing public facing and internal government websites and web applications.
